QS Document Analyzer 1.3 Supports Server Apps

I just released the V1.3 update to Qlik Sense Document Analyzer.  Two significant features in this release:

  • The ability to analyze applications on the Enterprise Server.  You still install and execute QS Document analyzer on the Desktop,  but you don’t need to move the application to the Desktop.
  • The option to specify a Bookmark that should be applied before calculating objects.  This is particularly useful when an object has a calculation condition.

Another interesting update is that we are now validating all expressions and will flag any expression that has a syntax error.

You can download the latest version from the tools section of this site.

Thanks to Axis Group for their input on this release.  I’m looking forward to an ongoing collaboration.

You can report any issues with QS Document Analyzer in the issue tracker here.

i run document analyzer on this QVW on a mchine wit h128GB RAM, the tool starts and is not able to finish the “Extract meta data stage”
it uses almost all ram memory available (128GB) and eventualy windows failes it with a msg stating not enough memory
    any ideas?

  2. Hi Rob, I can’t seem to connect to my server. After editing the “appmeta” Data connection and I try to specify the server name, the error message I’m receiving is ” The connector has returned the following error: {{“HandleJsonRequest no supported”}} ” is there a way i can resolve this?

  3. Hi Rob,

I am using the Document Analyzer v1.3 for the analysis of my Qliksense applications on the server. For this, I followed the steps as per the help document provided with the setup file.

After installing the setup, I could see the MetaData Connector folder in the similar path :

    “C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Qlik\Custom Data\QsAppMetadataConnector”

Also I imported the QVF file “QS Document Analyzer v1.3” from the path:

    “Documents\Qlik\Sense\Apps\ QS Document Analyzer V1.3.qvf”

After this step, I am not able to see the Edit options in the Data connection pane in the Script Editor under the folder of appmeta. Here, we select the app that we want for analysis. But I am not able to proceed further. Please see the attached file .

What can be the issue? Request your help.

    Regards,
    Twinkle

  4. Sorry, I copy pasted the same from community so without attachment here. Not able to attach the screenshot here.

  5. Hi Rob,
    Good job, works fine.
Is there a way to install Document analyzer on QS Server ?
(I want to analyze documents every time I publish a new application).

  6. Hello Rob,

There is any tutorial explain all the sheets?

    Best Regards.

  7. Hi Rob,

I am able to connect to server.. but i am not able to see the app list which are in the server.. Instead i am getting two error values in dropdown list. Please do suggest a solution.

  8. Hi Rob,

All work well with QS Desktop, but not with the server.
I’m using QS Desktop Feb2018 and trying to connect to QS Server Sep2018. It gives two errors in Dropdown for apps:
    1. Cannot connect to Qlik Sense
    2. General Communication Exception with communication error WebSocketClosed and http error code 500

Is it something related to firewall?

What ports are in use to connect to QS Server?

    Regards,
    Sergey

    1. The default port for the server connection is 443. in the current (1.4) version, only NTLM authentication is supported.

  9. Hi Rob,

Thanks for the good work, I’m very exciting about finding the weak spots in my apps. Howevery, I’m having some issues running the application, since it gives the following error (translated):

Access information for sections detected. This is not supported in Qlik Sense Desktop. If you want to load the data in Qlik Sense Desktop, you have to make sure to delete the access for sections.

Is this a common problem, which you might have a solution to?

    Thanks in advance!

    1. Hi,
Your application contains Section Access which is not supported on QS Desktop. You can either 1) Remove the Section Access script or 2) Try analyzing on the server.
